Description Of Duties

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

To provide specialised knowledge and expertise in the design, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operability of specific key plant, pipelines, machinery or equipment (Packages).

To co-ordinate and supervise the input of the relevant mechanical engineers as appropriate.

Act on behalf of the Mechanical Engineering Manager in the areas appropriate to the Specialist/Principal field of expertise.

Report to and is accountable for Lead Mechanical Engineers, Senior Mechanical Engineers, and Junior Engineers.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The preparation of the design for the package(s) including drawings, specifications, calculation, data sheets and all relevant documents and correspondence.

Design package(s) to the extent that is reasonably possible and without prejudicing quality, reliability or operability, to minimise the cost of manufacture, installation and utility consumption.

Delegate the possible detail design engineering package(s) to the Mechanical Engineers and where practical involve the Mechanical Engineers in the design as a means of transferring the specialist knowledge.

Review, correct, amend and approve all of the mechanical engineering designs and documents or packages produced.

Liaise closely with the related functional engineers namely piping, electrical, civil structural, and instrument and control to ensure economy and standardisation of the related designs.

Provide effective assistance and input when called upon to do so during installation and commissioning work.

Attend and ensure Vendors perform Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test.

Keep update of changes and the advancement in related technology.

Ensure the production of specific engineering deliverables, within budget, on schedule and in accordance with quality assurance practices and procedures.

Ensure specific engineering package(s) carried out in compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulatory and contractual requirements.

Proactive problem identification and resolution as needed to meet engineering objectives.

Keeping the Mechanical Engineering Manager update of progress.

Identify potential problems and delay and preparing recommendations for counter action.

Description Of Duties

I was assigned to perform detailed engineering design of 16 KM NPS 12 Ethane Pipeline Systems from GPP 5&6 and 600 Meters NPS 12 pipelines of Propane and Sales Gas to Union Carbide Corporation. Also performed detailed engineering design of three skid mounted meter station for ethane, propane and sales gas supply . Check and approved specifications, data sheets of pipes and fittings, and all mechanical piping drawings.

Description Of Duties

I was assigned to perform contractual evaluations and provide technical assistance on large pipeline systems, ball valves to our clients, consult and supervise engineering design works for 550 KM of NPS 36 Natural Gas Pipeline Systems.

Cost: US$ 500 million

I was assigned to perform conceptual and detailed engineering design of PGU Loop 1 and Loop 2 Project, design and installation of NPS 24 cross over lines up stream and down stream of the block valve station to facilitate flexibility during the operation and maintenance of the system. Supervise engineering design works for 542 KM of NPS 36 Natural Gas parallel Pipeline Systems and 41 KM of NPS 8 and NPS 12 propane and butane pipeline system to Export Terminal.

I was also assigned to perform conceptual and detailed engineering design of gas metering stations; such as filters, meters, and regulators piping and instruments design prior to custody transfer of gas to the customer.

I was assigned to Yadana Gas Pipeline Project to perform engineering design preparation of the design concept manual, Technical Specifications, piping and instrument diagram (P&ID), block valve stations, scraper stations and provide technical assistance on large pipeline systems, and supervise engineering design works for 230 KM of NPS 42 Natural Gas Pipeline Systems.

I was assigned Senior Pipe Stress Analyst based at Malaysia Mining Corporation Oil and Gas to one of the Fatty Alcohol Plant project at Kuantan, Malaysia.

I was assigned Senior Pipe Stress Analyst to provide pipe stress analysis and associated pipe supports, tower/vessel nozzle local stresses to comply with WRC 107 requirements, pump nozzle loading to comply with ANSI and API 610 requirements, tank nozzle loading to comply with API 650, fin fan cooler nozzle loading to comply with API 661, spring hangers/supports selection utilizing Simflex-S and Simflex II computer software.

I was assigned Senior Mechanical Engineer to review all mechanical vendor data, to comply with the requirements and evaluate packages for FMD approval.

I was also assigned as Senior Pipe Stress Analyst for Jerneh "A" three Compression Module I, II & III and Production Process Module II to provide pipe stress analysis report to satisfy the code allowable requirements for coolers, vessels, pumps and compressors nozzle loading in accordance with API-661, ASME, API-610 and API-617 or NEMA.

I was also assigned as Technical Bid Evaluation Co-ordinator between PETRONAS, EPMI/MD and MMC Oil & Gas. Tracking schedule, review technical specifications of all equipment for Lawit "A", preparation of draft requisition for bid inquiry and preparation of technical evaluation criteria. Chaired on every weekly progress meeting and writing the minutes of meeting.

Project Engineer for BI-3118 Berri Gas Plant Demothballing and Upgrades. I was Lead Mechanical Engineer on these projects responsible for field engineering, preparation of design packages for construction, and co-ordination and control of all project documents. Additionally, I conducted a feasibility study of the piping systems and shipping pumps at Pump House No. 1, Plant 54, as part of BI-8212. This included pressure drop calculations and pump sizing, utilizing computer aided engineering software.
